Entei Costume Construction

In my free time I have been working on my costume for MCM Comic con. I intend to wear this in May, so at the moment construction is slow. I have been using a heat gun, to heat the Worbla ( a thermoplastic) to the right temperature and then sandwiched some craft foam in-between two pieces to make it more substantial. IMG_1886 IMG_1887 IMG_1888 IMG_2368 IMG_2369

Attack on Titan Cosplay

This is a project that I did based on the characters in the popular anime Attack on Titan. I hand made all the harness using leatherette and painted the symbol on the back by hand as well as altered all the other clothes to fit. For more detail on how I made the harness check out this blog I made of the process:  http://attackontitanharnes.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/introduction-to-blog.html

Fionna Cosplay

This is another costume that I made based on the Character Fionna from the children TV show Adventure Time. The t-shirt and skirt were altered to fit my client and the hat was hand made out of fleece. The sword was also made entirely of card and painted to look cartoon-like with acrylic paints.

Jack Frost Cosplay

This is a female version of the character Jack Frost from the DreamWorks animated picture ‘The Rise of the Guradians’. The hoodie was ordered online and altered to fit. The icy effect on the jumper was done using fabric paints blue, white and silver. Looking at other frost bitten garments I was able to see that the frost originated from seams and folds of the garment, this allowed me to figure out where to place the the frost. The staff was made using dowel with a diameter if 2.5cm. Using duck tape, and intentionally creating creases, I attached some of the shorter pieces of the dowel I had cut off and then primed the whole staff and coated it in solid brown paint. To get the ice on the staff I used acrylic paint. I watered down light blue and white acrylic paint. Then using old spray bottle to spray the paint sprayed the paint onto the staff, heavily in the middle and fading out towards the edges as I went, being sure to mix the white and the blue effectively. To get the ice like crystal details on the top of the staff I put the light blue acrylic paint on the deliberate duck tape creases, to highlight them and then used a stippling effect to create the ice crystal formations.
